Youth for Human Rights Florida bring Toys to Children in Haiti

Clearwater, FL
20 December 2007

To celebrate the holiday season, YHRI Florida decided to help children not as privileged as them. They therefore held a toy drive, collecting over 300 toys for children in Haiti. Toys were donated by three toy stores, Limited Too, KB Todays and All Children’s Place along with donations from two schools, Clearwater Academy and Delphi Academy.

YHRI Florida then traveled to Haiti with YHRI’s President, Mary Shuttleworth, to distribute these toys. They were hosted by Aviol Fleaurant, Attorney-at-law in Haiti, who runs the National Academy of Human Rights (ACNAP). He brought with him over 200 kids from his group who were greeted by Santa Claus to receive their gifts around the Christmas tree.
